Join us for a free film screening of Price of Milk: The untold story behind the '90s "Got Milk" campaign.

The film leads a four-part investigative romp from the dairy farm to the White House, diving into Americans’ love/hate relationship with milk and the dairy industry's impact on pop culture.

Join us for a film screening, followed by a panel discussion about how we fight back against factory farming and corporate greed in Oregon.

Shedd regular Randy Napoleon and his trio welcome Siri Vik for an evening of reimaginings of, as Randy puts it (with all apologies to Bach, Beethoven and Brahms), “the 3 other Bs”: the Beatles, the Beach Boys and…Bill Withers. Look for, as a start, Wilson’s “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” and “God Only Knows”, Lennon and McCartney’s “Yesterday and “A Day In The Life”, and Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine” and “You Just Can’t Smile It Away”.

Scoobi is an undocumented-law-student-love-child of the Zapatista rebellion of 1994. Petra, her mother, a former revolutionary is also undocumented. Dylan O’Reilly, is Scoobi’s ticket to citizenship. This odd trio navigates personal and political borders on the heels of Scoobi’s marriage of inconvenience to Dylan. Oh yes, Roko, the soldier-ghost of Scoobi’s soulmate is hanging out too.

University of Oregon 2025-26 Visiting Artist Lecture Series

Allan Wexler’s work mediates the gap between fine and applied art using the mediums of architecture, sculpture, photography, painting, and drawing. Wexler’s work is sometimes functional, sometimes theoretical, and often performative. In all cases, it demonstrates a commitment to reevaluating basic assumptions about the human relationship to the built and natural environments.

In the late1960’s Allan Wexler was an early member of the group of architects and artists who questioned the perceived divide between art and the design disciplines. They called themselves non-architects or paper architects. The subject of Wexler's work is the built environment. He creates drawings, multimedia objects, images, and installations that alter perceptions of domestic activities. Wexler is a recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship (2016), is a Fellow of the American Academy in Rome, and a winner of both a Chrysler Award for Design Innovation and the Henry J. Leir Prize from the Jewish Museum. Wexler currently teaches at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. He is represented by the Jane Lombard Gallery in New York City where he had a solo exhibition from January thru March of 2025.

Bilingual Storytime returns to the Newport Public Library, 35 NW Nye St., on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 5:30 PM, and will continue all school year long! Families can enjoy stories told in both English and Spanish, followed by a fun, hands-on craft.
This program celebrates language, culture, and community, creating a welcoming space for children and families of all backgrounds.

Join us for an energetic and engaging evening of dance created by UO Dance students. It includes works by six featured choreographers, two works that were created collaboratively, and a dance film. The concert is an exploration of the intensity of emotions young artists navigate across their communities and lived experiences, incorporating themes of nostalgia, love, energy, and grief. It is a journey that vividly portrays a breadth of human experience through the voice of a new generation of dance artists.
